Department of Jails seeks expression of interest from reputed agencies/ Institutes offering training on catering technology for organizing short training courses on ‘Catering’ for the inmates (prisoners) of Correctional Homes (Jails) at Alipore, Presidency and Dum Dum.

The following are the correctional homes where we propose to introduce the training:

• Alipore Central Correctional Home
  • the participating inmates will be able to identify best practices in hygienic preparation of food
  • will be able to prepare daily food items for providing lunch and dinner to the inmates by maintaining appropriate food quality and nutritional standards
  • will be able to prepare items to be used as refreshments, breakfast and other support food in the correctional home providing variations in taste
  • will be able to organise catering and home delivery services with the help of outside agencies for purchasing and marketing support.

• A ‘Concept Paper’
• Technical specifications of the proposed training interventions
• Support requirement from the Department of Jails and its subsidiary offices.

The second part will contain ‘Financial Bid’ where the agencies are expected to quote rates with detailed break up for the items and sub items. The second part of the bids will be opened only when the Department is satisfied on the first part of the bid.

Any proposal offering front-ending and back-ending support in the restaurant/ home delivery sector will be given special weightage.
